25 June 2020 – State of emergency maintained, lockdown continues

Overview: On Thursday June 25, 2020, a meeting of the National Security Council (CNS) made it possible to examine the development of coronavirus disease in Côte d’Ivoire. After advice from the Scientific Council, the National Security Council has decided until July 15, 2020 to:

the maintenance of the state of emergency;

– maintaining the closure of land and sea borders;

– maintaining the isolation of Greater Abidjan, by strengthening entry / exit control and by sanctioning cases of violation;

– maintaining the closure of bars, nightclubs, cinemas and places of entertainment in Greater Abidjan;

– maintaining the ban on population gatherings, over 50 people for Greater Abidjan;

– strengthening the sampling and testing system to provide the results within a maximum of 48 hours;

– compulsory isolation of any person tested pending the results;

– the opening of domestic flights from Friday, June 26, 2020, in strict compliance with sanitary measures;

– the opening of international flights from July 1, 2020 in strict compliance with sanitary measures. All passengers arriving on international flights will be subject to health checks and systematic monitoring during their stay in Côte d’Ivoire;

– compulsory confinement of all vulnerable persons, including pregnant women;

– strengthening community awareness with a view to changing behavior, especially through greater involvement of young people and women supervised by the municipalities;

– the wide availability of masks and the strengthening of the control of the obligation to wear a mask, with appropriate sanctions.
