17 June 2020 – Tanganyika suspends all movement of vehicles

Lead People/Agency: This is an announcement made on June 17 by provincial government spokesperson Dieudonné Kamona after the assessment meeting chaired by Governor Zoé Kabila. To date, no case of COVID-19 has been recorded in Tanganyika. Provincial authorities are taking action in light of the threat to their province, its neighbors being affected by the pandemic.

Overview: Tanganyika: Provincial government strengthens measures against COVID-19. Among these measures is the suspension of all movements of vehicles transporting passengers from Lubumbashi to Kalemie, and vice versa. This measure also concerns boats serving Tanzania and the Congolese city of Uvira. All vehicles that make shuttles between the province of Tanganyika and the other border provinces are also affected.
