Overview: Businesses and individuals who resell masks they bought at drugstores and other places will be subject to a ban on reselling masks at high prices. The decision is based on the Act on Emergency Measures for Stabilizing Living Conditions of the Public. The Cabinet of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will approve a revised ordinance to enforce the emergency measures law on March 10, and the government will ban unfair reselling of masks starting mid-March. Violations of the law could result in imprisonments of up to five years or a maximum 3 million yen fine.
