06 March 2020 – People returning from Italy to be quarantined for 14 days

Overview: With immediate effect, all persons with permanent residence in the Czech Republic who return from their stay in Italy to the Czech Republic in the period from 7 March 2020 are ordered to notify their general practitioner by telephone immediately upon their return to the Czech Republic, by telephone. or in another remote way (mobile application, e-mail, skype, etc.), ie without personal contact.
Furthermore, general practitioners are ordered to decide on a quarantine period of 14 days for persons with permanent residence in the Czech Republic who return from their stay in Italy to the Czech Republic in the period from 7 March 2020.
Quarantine means, in particular, the separation of a healthy person from other persons in order to prevent the transmission of an infectious disease in a period when the disease could spread.
Violations of the quarantine risk a fine of up to CZK 3 million under the Public Health Protection Act.
The general practitioner is entitled to extend the quarantine in case of COVID-19 disease.
