Overview: Group of seven countries (Australia, Austria, Israel, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, New Zealand) who have made progress in containing the coronavirus pandemic meet to discuss how to rebuild business ties and tourism among themselves. The group will meet every two weeks.
These countries are “smaller, smart countries” who rely strongly on tourism. Singapore is also part of the group but its Prime Minister could not take part in the conference due to technical difficulties.
Researchers from the countries in the group would be co-operating on work towards a possible vaccine and other treatments. The aim was for the countries concerned to avoid becoming dependent on global superpowers in reacting to the crisis.
